Futurpreneur Canada

Futurpreneur Canada has been fueling the entrepreneurial passions of Canada’s young enterprises for two decades. It is the only national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring and support tools to aspiring business owners aged 18-39. Its internationally personalized mentoring program matches young entrepreneurs with a business expert from a network of more than 2,800 volunteer mentors.

Pre-launch coaching

Knowledgeable entrepreneurs-in-residence help young entrepreneurs turn their ideas into businesses.

Online resources

Their Business Resource Centre provides tools, articles and an interactive business plan writer to help entrepreneurs create a viable business plan.

Financing

Entrepreneurs receive up to $60,000 from Futurpreneur Canada and its partner, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).

Mentoring

Futurpreneur Canada offers two years of business mentoring through its industry-leading mentoring program and ongoing support through its Entrepeer Program to help young entrepreneurs plan, manage and grow their business.

  • Between 18 and 39 years old
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada (work permit holders are not eligible)
  • Submit a complete business plan showing the viability of your business
  • The business must have been in operation for not more than 12 months
  • Your residence or place of business must be in a city where the Futurpreneur program is available
  • Have training or experience that is relevant to the project
  • Agree to work with a mentor for two years
  • The business must provide you with sustainable full-time employment
  • Hold at least 51% of the voting shares (in the case of a partnership)
  • Not be a full-time student
  • The loan must NOT be used to refinance existing debt
