A vast territory (855 km²) west of Montréal, at the confluence of the St. Lawrence and Ottawa rivers, Vaudreuil-Soulanges is made up of 23 widely diversified municipalities, 11 of which are part of the Montreal Metropolitan Community. The municipalities are grouped together under five sectors of affinity: Mont Rigaud, Plaine rurale, Soulanges, Centre urbain et Île Perrot.
