Vaudreuil-Soulanges, a booming region

The Vaudreuil-Soulanges region’s population has been steadily growing for several years. Strategically located just west of Montréal, the area attracts increasing numbers of residents.

Several factors, such as access to high-quality services, a pleasant living environment and a booming economy, are at the root of this expansion. According to the most recent data, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges population continues to rise at a rate that exceeds the province’s average pace. To meet this surging demand, new residential neighbourhoods, infrastructure and public services—including health care—are under development.

To that end, some of the most significant public infrastructure investments in Québec have been made in the region, and projects valued at nearly $5 billion in health care, education and transportation are ongoing.

Economy and Health Care Regional Hub

The arrival of the Hôpital de Vaudreuil-Soulanges represents much more than a new health care facility: it’s a unique opportunity to shape the region’s economic development.

As a value creator and incubator in the region, DEV must ensure that economic challenges are taken into account when developing projects within its territory.

With the implementation of an Economy and Health Care Regional Hub, DEV aims to bring together key regional stakeholders to boost local benefits, foster synergy between businesses, institutions and knowledge fields, attract complementary organizations and bolster innovation.

A strategic committee, comprised of economic, institutional and sector partners, steers the initiative to shape priorities, identify promising projects and align cohesively with the needs of the community.

This initiative aims to position health care as a real driving force of growth, high-skilled job creation and investment attraction for all of Vaudreuil-Soulanges.

To that end, five strategic directions were established:

  • Foster synergy
  • Reinforce existing businesses
  • Attract complementary businesses
  • Foster innovation
  • Create high-skilled jobs and attract talent

Attracting talent

Developing a high-performing economy and health care regional hub requires skilled and committed people. As such, DEV acts as a facilitator to support local organizations with their talent and recruiting needs.

Since we aim to, among other things, put forward the professional options the region offers, we encourage local businesses searching for personnel to contact our team so we can support them and help showcase their job opportunities to a wider audience.

We also highlight career opportunities at Santé Québec Montérégie-Ouest (SQMO) and the Hôpital de Vaudreuil-Soulanges to attract professionals who are looking to have a hand in Vaudreuil-Soulanges’s growth and vitality. The upcoming opening of the new hospital will require thousands of health care professionals to meet the demand. Visit emplois-cisssmo.ca/hopital-de-vaudreuil-soulanges to find out more about available positions and the benefits of working at SQMO.
